What is Futures Studies? Futures Studies is a scientific research field involving scholars and researchers across many disciplines. There are undergraduate and post graduate programs available in universities around the world. You will notice that we use the plural term "futures" and you may wonder why we use this and not the singular term: "future"? Rather, futures studies methods are generally designed to help people better understand future possibilities in order to make better decisions today. Futurists often say they use their methods to reduce uncertainty, although it may be more accurate to say they are trying to manage uncertainty.
